TREATMENTS
Treatment of rosacea focuses on controlling the signs and symptoms. In most cases, this requires a combination of good skin treatments and prescription medications.
The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the signs and symptoms. Recurrence of rosacea is common.
Oral antibiotics
For moderate to severe rosacea with bumps and pimples.
Oral acne medications
If severe rosacea doesn’t respond to other treatments, your doctor may suggest isotretinoin. This is a powerful oral acne medication that also helps clear acne-like lesions in rosacea.
Pure Yellow Laser
The Pure Yellow Laser targets the underlying dilated blood vessels (telangiectasias) that cause the characteristic redness of rosacea. The yellow light absorbs the light and shrinks the vessels. This leads to a reduction in the redness and flushing of the skin, a reduction in acne-like bumps and a more even skin tone.
