Dermal fillers may restore selected areas of lost volume, soften folds and refine facial contours. Treatment areas can include the chin, lips, cheeks and temples, with more technically demanding areas such as the nose and under-eyes requiring particularly careful assessment.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a common filler ingredient. Its water-binding properties and gel structure help provide volume and support, but different formulations are designed for different tissue layers and concerns.
This guide explains filler types, treatment areas, expected recovery and key risks. At Cheongdam Aesthetics, a doctor assesses your facial anatomy, medical history and goals before recommending a product or treatment plan.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable materials used to add volume, soften selected lines and refine contours. Many are gels containing HA, while other products contain materials such as calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) or collagen-stimulating particles.
HA fillers generally produce an immediate volumising effect, but swelling can obscure the result initially. Collagen-stimulating treatments work differently, with changes developing over weeks to months. Duration varies by product and area.
These treatment categories can overlap:
- Dermal fillers: Primarily used for targeted volume and contour correction; some also stimulate collagen.
- Skin boosters: Primarily used to improve hydration, texture or other aspects of skin quality. Their effects depend on the formulation and technique.
- Collagen stimulators: Encourage gradual collagen production and may support skin quality or volume, depending on the product and placement.
They are not interchangeable, and the label alone does not determine suitability.
Areas Treated with Dermal Fillers
Fillers can address several distinct areas of the face, each with its own considerations. Here’s what’s typically involved for each.
Chin Fillers
Chin filler may improve selected projection, definition or profile-balance concerns. Your doctor assesses the chin in relation to the lips, nose, jawline and bite.
Filler does not correct an underlying skeletal or dental problem. Significant recession or functional concerns may require another assessment.
Nose Fillers
Nose filler may add height or camouflage selected profile irregularities. It adds volume, so it cannot make the nose physically smaller or correct breathing problems, and it cannot reshape bone or cartilage like surgery.
The nose is a higher-risk injection area because of its blood-vessel anatomy. Vascular blockage can cause tissue injury and, in rare cases, permanent vision loss. Your doctor will explain these risks and whether another approach is more appropriate before recommending treatment.
Lip Fillers
Lip filler may add selected volume, improve definition or address asymmetry. The plan considers natural lip shape, surrounding proportions and previous filler.
Cheongdam’s approach favours proportionate enhancement. Swelling is common initially, so the final appearance should be judged after recovery rather than immediately after injection.
Cheeks and Temples
Filler may restore selected cheek or temple volume and improve facial balance. Hollowing can reflect changes in fat, bone and other tissues, so the cause and appropriate placement need assessment.
These areas have important vascular structures. Adding volume does not automatically lift all sagging tissue, and overcorrection can create unwanted fullness.
Nasolabial Folds and Marionette Lines
These folds may reflect volume loss, tissue descent, anatomy and muscle activity. Filler can soften selected folds or restore support in appropriate areas, but complete removal is not always achievable or desirable.
Your doctor assesses the surrounding face rather than simply filling every visible line.
Under-Eye Hollows
Under-eye filler may help selected hollowing, but it does not treat every cause of dark circles, puffiness or eye bags. Thin skin, existing swelling, fat protrusion and previous filler influence suitability.
Risks include persistent swelling, lumps, a bluish appearance from superficial HA placement and serious vascular complications. A doctor assesses whether filler or another option is appropriate.
Types of Fillers Used at Cheongdam
Cheongdam offers HA fillers and related injectable options for different volume, support and skin-quality concerns. Product selection depends on anatomy, indication, formulation and injection technique, rather than desired longevity alone.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
HA fillers provide volume and support through a gel formulation. Different products have different physical properties and are not suitable for every facial area.
Hyaluronidase can break down HA filler when clinically appropriate, but dissolving is not a guaranteed or risk-free reversal. It may require repeat treatment and can cause allergic reactions. It does not reliably reverse all damage from a vascular complication.
Collagen-Stimulating Options
The related injectable range includes products with different mechanisms; not every option is a traditional collagen stimulator:
- CaHA Radiance Lifting: Contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel carrier. Depending on dilution and placement, it may provide support or volume and stimulate collagen. Diluted skin-quality protocols differ from volumising use.
- Liftura Injection: An HA-based formulation considered for selected facial adipose-tissue and contour changes.
- Rejuve Collagen Booster: A PDLLA-based formulation with HA, considered for gradual collagen remodelling and selected skin-quality concerns.
- Sculpt & Volume Collagen Booster: Contains PLLA and supports gradual collagen-related improvement in selected volume and structural-support concerns.
These products are not suitable for all the areas listed above. Unlike HA fillers, CaHA, PLLA and PDLLA products cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Skin Boosters at Cheongdam
Skin boosters generally focus on skin quality rather than targeted contour correction. They may complement filler where appropriate, but are not substitutes for volume restoration or a surgical lift.
Injectable Skin Boosters
- PN Healer: A polynucleotide-based injectable considered for selected skin-quality concerns, including texture and elasticity.
- PN HB Plus: Combines PN, HA and lidocaine for skin-quality and hydration treatment, with lidocaine supporting injection comfort.
- RD1 HA Booster: HA with a nutrient complex for selected hydration and skin-quality concerns.
- Watershine Dewy Booster: A cross-linked hyaluronic acid injectable for intense hydration and a dewy surface glow.
Non-Injectable Skin Boosters
- Exosome ASCE+ Magic Skin Booster: Applied topically at Cheongdam as part of selected skin-treatment or recovery protocols.
- Lorient Element Skin Booster: A topical skin booster formulated with glutathione, vitamin C, tranexamic acid, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to support brighter, more even-looking skin and hydration. It’s commonly used alongside treatments such as laser or microneedling, particularly for pigmentation and uneven skin tone, rather than as a volumising filler.
What to Expect During Treatment
- Consultation and facial assessment. Your doctor assesses your facial structure and discusses which areas and filler type suit your goals.
- Preparation and numbing. The skin is cleansed using appropriate infection-control measures. Numbing cream, local anaesthetic or a lidocaine-containing formulation may be used depending on the procedure.
- Injection. The doctor uses a needle or cannula and a technique suited to the area and product. Neither technique eliminates vascular risk.
- Immediate aftercare. The treated area is assessed, and you receive product-specific instructions and contact details for concerns. A mask or other topical treatment is not automatically appropriate immediately after injections.
- Review. HA volume effects appear early, but swelling can take days to weeks to settle. Collagen-stimulating results develop more gradually. A review helps assess recovery and whether further treatment is appropriate.
Treatment Overview
| Treatable areas | Selected chin, lip, cheek, temple and fold concerns; nose and under-eye treatment require particularly careful assessment. Not every product is suitable for every area. |
| Duration | Varies with assessment, numbing, number of areas and injection technique. The clinic confirms the total appointment time. |
| How long results last | Depends on product, area and individual response; see below. |
| Downtime | Swelling, bruising, tenderness and injection marks are common. Visible recovery may take several days or longer, especially around the lips or eyes. |
How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?
Longevity varies by filler type.
Duration
01
Hyaluronic acid fillers
Many visible effects last approximately 6–18 months, but some products and areas may persist longer.
02
CaHA Radiance Lifting
Effects may last around a year or longer; dilution, placement and treatment goal influence duration.
03
Liftura Injection
Course and maintenance are determined by product-specific guidance and clinical response; a fixed duration should not be assumed.
04
Sculpt & Volume Collagen Booster
Effects may last around a year or longer; dilution, placement and treatment goal influence duration.
Visible results and the persistence of material in tissue are not identical. Filler may remain longer than expected, so maintenance should follow assessment rather than automatic top-ups.
Ageing, weight change and previous treatment also affect appearance. As effects lessen, the face does not necessarily return exactly to its pre-treatment state.
Safety, Side Effects and Aftercare
Filler injections are medical procedures. Common effects are usually temporary, but complications can be delayed, serious or permanent. Suitability and product-specific risks are discussed before treatment.
Common Temporary Effects
Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness are common. They often improve over several days, but may persist for one to two weeks or longer depending on the area and procedure.
Other possible effects include asymmetry, lumps, persistent swelling, infection, inflammatory reactions and delayed nodules. The treatment needed depends on the cause and product.
When to Contact the Clinic
Contact the clinic promptly for worsening redness, heat, swelling, discharge, fever, persistent lumps or an unexpected change after treatment.
Unusual severe pain, blanching or white patches, mottled or dusky skin, or cool skin may indicate impaired blood supply and require urgent assessment. Vision changes, eye pain or stroke-like symptoms are an emergency: seek emergency medical care immediately and notify the clinic.
Accidental injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue death and, in rare cases, blindness or stroke. Hyaluronidase availability does not remove these risks.
Aftercare in the First 48 Hours
Follow your doctor’s instructions about exercise, heat, makeup and pressure on the area. Avoid rubbing or massaging unless specifically instructed; massage guidance differs between products.
Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice from your prescribing clinician. Tell your doctor about recent illness, dental procedures and any planned treatments so timing can be assessed.
Fillers or Botulinum Toxin (Muscle-Relaxing Injectables)?
Fillers address selected volume and contour concerns. Botulinum toxin temporarily reduces muscle activity and is used for appropriate movement-related concerns, including some expression lines.
They may be considered together because they address different mechanisms, but suitability, areas and timing are assessed individually.

Treatment Pairings
Other procedures may complement filler where they address a separate concern. They are not automatically appropriate in the same session; timing considers the product, injection area and tissue effects.
- Botulinum Toxins (Muscle-Relaxing Injections): May address selected muscle-related concerns alongside filler for volume or contour.
- XERF: For skin tightening, volumising and contouring.
- Skin ReSet ECM Booster: ECM regeneration and skin barrier support, for skin quality alongside contour.
- Sculpt & Volume Collagen Booster: Gradual collagen-based volume restoration, for a longer-term structural complement to filler.
Dermal Filler Cost in Singapore
Cost depends on the product, syringe or vial quantity, areas treated and complexity of the plan. Different injectables use different units, so per-syringe prices are not always directly comparable.
Your doctor recommends the product and amount after assessment. An itemised quotation, including applicable GST and any review arrangements, is provided before treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do dermal fillers hurt?
You may feel a pinch, pressure or discomfort. Numbing or a lidocaine-containing product can improve comfort, but does not guarantee a painless procedure.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Many HA filler effects last around 6–18 months, with substantial variation and sometimes longer persistence. Other injectable materials have different timelines. Maintenance should follow assessment.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved or reversed?
Hyaluronidase can break down HA filler when clinically appropriate. It may require repeated treatment, has risks and cannot guarantee reversal of complications. CaHA, PLLA and PDLLA products are not dissolved by this enzyme.
Will I look unnatural or overfilled?
Unwanted fullness, asymmetry or an unnatural result are possible. Careful product selection, conservative planning and review help manage this risk, but a natural-looking outcome cannot be guaranteed.
How much downtime is there after fillers?
Many people resume routine activities promptly, but swelling or bruising can remain visible for days to weeks. Avoid scheduling treatment immediately before an important event without discussing recovery.
What happens when fillers wear off?
Effects generally lessen gradually, but material may persist longer than expected. Ageing and other changes continue, so the area does not necessarily return exactly to its previous appearance. Automatic top-ups may lead to excess product.
How soon can I go back to work or exercise?
Routine work may be possible promptly if you feel well. Follow the clinic’s advice about strenuous exercise, heat and pressure; restrictions often apply during the initial recovery period.
Are fillers suitable for me?
Suitability depends on anatomy, goals, medical history, allergies and previous treatments. Active infection or inflammation may require postponement. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and relevant health conditions should be discussed; treatment may not be recommended.
How much do dermal fillers cost in Singapore?
Pricing depends on the product, amount, areas and treatment plan. Cheongdam provides a personalised itemised quotation after doctor assessment.
Can I have fillers and Botox (muscle-relaxing injectables) in the same session?
Yes, where appropriate. Your doctor assesses whether both are appropriate and whether they should be performed together or spaced apart.
What is the difference between a filler and a skin booster?
Fillers primarily provide targeted volume or contour correction, while boosters primarily address skin quality. Some formulations overlap with collagen-stimulating treatments, so the actual product and technique matter more than the category name.
